The Interactions between COVID-19 Cases in the USA, the VIX Index and Major Stock Markets

With this study, we aimed to determine (1) the effect of daily new cases and deaths due COVID-19 pandemic in United States on CBOE volatility index (VIX index) (2) VIX major stock markets during early stage period. To do this, collected analysed death numbers period country indexes USA (DJI), Germany (DAX), France (CAC40), England (FTSE100), Italy (MIB), China (SSEC) Japan (Nikkei225) impact markets. We then subjected data Johansen co-integration test fully modified least-squares (FMOLS) method. The results indicated that there was between indexes, except for CAC 40 MIB.
